Sending and receiving prints

The participant panel: your print and bio, marking prints sent with proof, checking off what arrives, and messages.

Updated 2026-09-09

Once you've joined, your exchange page is the participant panel: your own print, where to mail it, proof of sending, and everyone else's status.

Your print

Two fields, editable any time before the exchange completes: Print title, set as it should read in the colophon, and your bio for this colophon, a few lines on where you print, what you cut, and what the piece is about. Click Save after changing either.

Mail your prints to

The side panel shows the organizer's name and mailing address, with a copy button, so you can paste it straight onto a label. Mail the full edition, the number set by the organizer's specification, by the submission deadline if one is set. Wrap flat, with a stiffener; the organizer sorts and redistributes once everyone's edition has landed.

Marking your prints sent

The "Send your prints" section lets you attach a photo of one impression, optional, as proof of sending for the organizer, then click "Upload photo and mark sent" (or "Mark as sent without a photo" if you skip the photo). Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or WebP, up to 10 MB. The organizer sees the photo on their Submissions tab; it's not shown to other participants.

If you mark sent by mistake, "Not sent yet? Undo" puts your status back to pending. Your photo stays on file, so you don't have to shoot it again if you re-mark sent later. Once the organizer marks your prints received, the sent/undo controls are replaced with a note that your prints have arrived, and you can no longer change your submission status yourself.

Prints you've received

Below your own print is a list of every other participant: their name, print title, and current submission status. As envelopes land in your mailbox, tick "Received" beside that person's name. That tally, across every participant, is what tells the organizer the exchange is complete. There's no way to un-tick a print you haven't actually received other than the same checkbox, and no photo gallery here; it's a checklist, not a preview of the prints themselves.

The colophon

Once the organizer has written it, a "View colophon" button appears with the date it was published. Until then, this section explains that the organizer publishes it when the exchange completes, and that it lists every participant, their print, and the specification. See Mailing labels and colophon.

Messages

The message board on your page shows everything posted so far, oldest first. Direct messages addressed to you carry a "To you" tag; broadcasts don't. To post, write your message and choose who it goes to: Everyone, or Organizer only. You can't message an individual participant directly, only the organizer or the whole group.

Fee

If the exchange has a participation fee, the panel shows the amount and your payment status (No fee, Unpaid, Paid, Refunded). For now you pay the organizer directly, outside the app; in-app payment is coming. The organizer updates your status on their roster once they've been paid.
